For years now the Faculty of Computer Science has been engaged in various forms of international cooperation. Both the research workers and academic teachers working for the Faculty have been involved in several research projects conduct between national and foreign universities and institutions. Scientific investigations have been carried out in collaboration with well known science centres in Europe , such as those in France, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Portugal and Belarus as well as in North America (the USA and Canada) and even in Japan.
Special emphasis should be laid on the cooperation with the Laboratory of Signal and Image Processing in Rennes, France, which has been going on for many years and resulted in two PhD degrees by two Faculty workers earned in co-promotion.
Faculty workers have been collaborating with the following academic centres : University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada (Prof. James F. Peters), University of North Carolina, Charlotte, USA (Prof. Zbigniew W. RaÅ›), University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (Prof. Witold Pedrycz), Shinshu University, Nagano, Japan (Prof. Yasunari Shidama), University of Pittsburgh, USA (Prof. Marek Druzdzel) .
The Faculty also actively participates in the SoÂcrates - Erasmus exchange programmes which involve both students and academic staff .Exchange agreements have been signed between our Faculty and higher education institutions in the Czech Republic, Denmark ,France, Spain, Portugal , Great Britain and Italy.
Now our priorities for the future cooperation include widening of our educational curricula and making our offer more attractive and appealing to foreign students..
